UAE residents warned of flash flooding with four-day forecast for rain

The forecast is slightly better for Tuesday, with clouds dispersing and only a slight chance of rain over the western coasts and the east of the UAE.

Residents in the UAE are being warned to brace themselves for rain over the weekend and into next week, with potential for flash flooding in the east and north of the country.

A forecast from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) shows that the coming days will be cloudy with a chance of rain over the northern regions from Saturday afternoon.

This is expected to intensify over Sunday and Monday with potential for thunder and lightning in different parts of the country and a risk of flooding.

The forecast is slightly better for Tuesday, with clouds dispersing and only a slight chance of rain over the western coasts and the east of the UAE.

A statement from the NCM said: "It is advised to stay away from valleys and areas of flash floods. It is also advised to not go to the sea as it is rough in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea from time to time.”
