Father of two, who has lived in Dubai since 2011, passed away with his wife Jennie by his side
British celebrity chef Gary Rhodes has died aged 59 in Dubai, his family confirmed on Wednesday.
The father-of-two has lived in Dubai since 2011 and passed away with his wife Jennie by his side.
Rhodes ran a popular restaurant at Grosvenor House Dubai which said it was "devastated" by the news, saying: "We have also lost an inspirational human being and a very dear friend."
His family added in a statement: "The Rhodes family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Gary Rhodes OBE.
"Gary passed away last evening, Tuesday 26th November 2019, at the age of 59, with his beloved wife Jennie by his side.
"The family would like to thank everyone for their support and ask for privacy during this time."
Rhodes was a household name in the early 2000s, and fronted shows such as Masterchef and Hell's Kitchen.
In 2017, Rhodes teamed up with UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas to launch Vox ThEATre by Rhodes in Dubai.
