Palestinian singer to present Show Me the Light on December 15
The ‘Palestinian Frank Sinatra’, Omar Kamal, is set to perform for one night only at Dubai Opera on December 15.
Following the success of his 2017/18 tour of his debut album ‘Serenade’, the smooth-voiced star, who is making his Dubai Opera debut, presents his new show – Show Me the Light.
Born in 1992 in Nablus, Kamal grew up with classical music, learning to play the piano from the tender age of nine before going on to take up violin lessons and then focusing on vocals in his teenage years.
His influences include Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, to Arabic idols such as Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Fairuz, Umm Kulthum and even modern trendsetters like The Weekend.
After touring the UK during his student years and featuring in a local concert back in Palestine, Kamal signed a multi-year recording and management contract with Sony Music Middle East in late 2014.
A statement from Dubai Opera said: “Expect to be taken on a long and winding musical journey, with arrangements from all sorts of genres and eras.”
