Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bill Gates have discussed ways to improve humanitarian cooperation in disease and epidemic control in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency has announced.
According to WAM, Sheikh Mohamed took a call from Gates in which they discussed the coronavirus pandemic and efforts to mitigate its impact.
The two men also discussed work between the UAE’s humanitarian institutions and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the importance of supporting research centres and medical institutions working to develop a cure for the virus.
Gates, for his part, expressed support for the UAE’s efforts to build its capacity to contain the spread of the virus.
He also applauded the UAE’s efforts to send aid to Africa, particularly to Ethiopia.
