UAE adjusts lockdown hours for industrial, labour areas by two hours

Decision is effective immediately, coming into force this evening from 6pm

UAE adjusts lockdown hours for industrial, labour areas by two hours

In all other areas of the country, residents must stay home between 8pm and 6am, as announced earlier this week.

The UAE has today adjusted the lockdown timing for industrial and worker accommodation areas of the country by a further two hours, from 6pm to 6pm.

The Ministry of Interior, Human Resources and Emiratisation announced the decision on news agency WAM, stating that the national sterilisation programme will start from today (Wednesday) in industrial and labour areas between 6pm and 6am until further notice.

The amended times are to allow an increase in the nationwide disinfection drive, the ministry said.

In its statement on WAM, the ministries called on people living in those areas to stay home and to not leave “except in cases of necessity”.

In all other areas of the country, residents must stay home between 8pm and 6am, as announced earlier this week.
