Sharjah Government to welcome back 30% of staff on Sunday

Officials have said that the percentage of staff returning may increase in line with weekly progress reports filed by individual government entities.

Thirty percent of Sharjah Government employees will be returning to work on Sunday, according to the emirate’s Human Resources Directorate.

Officials have said that the percentage of staff returning may increase in line with weekly progress reports filed by individual government entities.

However, by the same token, it was stressed that the number may also be reduced depending on the commitment of staff to the various health measures that have been put in place, including social distancing.

Among those exempt from returning are pregnant women, people with special needs as well as those with chronic ailments and immune deficiencies, according to approved medical reports.

In addition to those aged 60 years and above, female employees who have school-going children in the ninth grade or below have been exempted until the end of the current academic year.

All government departments have been ordered to ensure offices are safe and healthy for returning staff members.
