Abu Dhabi updates guidelines for entering the emirate

All those planning to enter Abu Dhabi are required to take a Covid-19 test outside the emirate beforehand.

Abu Dhabi has updated the guidelines for people currently entering and exiting the emirate.

All those planning to enter Abu Dhabi are required to take a Covid-19 test outside the emirate beforehand. Authorities said the text message showing a negative test result received within 48 hours must be shown in order to enter the emirate.

It also said a test can be carried out in Abu Dhabi for those planning short trips.

“Those leaving Abu Dhabi for short periods can visit a screening centre in the emirate and to conduct a Covid-19 test before departing and present the result on return,” Abu Dhabi Media office outlined in its update.

It said the result will be valid for re-entry if it is received within 48 hours.

“Presenting a test result more than 48 hours after receipt is not valid, and a new test must be taken outside the emirate at any hospital or any screening centre affiliated with the National Screening Programme,” the media office added.
