Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reminded motorists that UAE driving licenses can be added to the ‘Apple Wallet’ and eliminates the need to carry the physical card.
The Twitter post read, “Add your Driving License to ‘Apple Wallet’ with simple steps in the #RTADubaiApp, and enjoy driving without the need to carry your Driver’s License Card! Note: RTA Dubai App must be updated to enjoy this feature.”
The new RTA app feature is beneficial for those who forget to carry their driving licences or simply do not want to carry the physical card.
Earlier this month, it was announced that motorists can now benefit from the delivery of driving licenses within two hours.
The two-hour delivery service is applicable for residents of Dubai. Those residing in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi can benefit from same-day delivery.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, RTA said, “The operation of the Autonomous Electric Abra is in line with RTA’s efforts to achieve Dubai’s Strategy for Self-Driving Transport that aims to convert 25 percent of the total mobility journeys in Dubai into self-driving journeys by 2030.”
