Dubai Police have issued a public warning amid a surge in fraudulent advertisements on social media and online platforms that claim to offer part-time jobs with attractive salaries.

The Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation said the scam ads are being used to lure victims into schemes involving the misuse of personal data and illegal financial activities.

As part of its Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, Dubai Police confirmed that fraudsters set these suspicious job posts as traps.

Fraudsters often persuade victims to open bank accounts in their names, transfer money from unknown sources, or carry out other tasks linked to wider fraudulent operations.

The Anti-Fraud Centre urged members of the public to remain vigilant and always verify the authenticity of any employer before applying for online job offers.

Officials advised residents not to share personal or banking details with unverified parties, to avoid offers requiring money transfers or personal account access.

Police said to report suspicious advertisements immediately through the eCrime platform or by calling 901.

Dubai Police stressed that public awareness remains the strongest line of defence against scammers.

Individuals who share personal information with unverified sources risk becoming victims — and may even face legal accountability if criminals misuse their details in illegal activities.

The force reiterated its commitment to protecting the community through proactive awareness campaigns and ongoing monitoring of cyber-enabled fraud schemes.
