An earthquake struck the UAE on Thursday, reported the National Centre of Meteorology.
The quake was recorded at 8.03pm local time and measured 1.9 on the Richter scale.
In a post on social media, the NCM said the tremors were “slightly felt by residents and without any effect in the United Arab Emirates.”

The location of the quake was off the coast of Dibba in Fujairah.
According to a report by the National Seismic Network, the depth of the earthquake was 17km.
According to the NCM website a second tremor was recorded around 10 minutes later. This tremor measured 1.7 on the Richter scale and was at a depth of 10km.
