Kuwait will recognise multiple public holidays to begin 2026, according to local media reports.
Official public holidays for the New Year, Isra and Mi’raj have been announced said Arab Times.
Both holidays will be combined with weekends to create extended breaks.
Kuwait holidays 2026
The year starts with an official holiday on Thursday, January 1. With Friday and Saturday being typical weekend days, it means the year begins with a three-day holiday in Kuwait.
People in the country won’t have long to wait until the next official holiday. Isra and Mi’raj is an Islamic holiday and is expected to fall on Friday, January 16 in 2026.
With this falling on a typical weekend date, it will be moved to allow an additional long-weekend break.
According to the media reports another long-weekend break will fun from Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 18.
Work will restart on Monday, January 19.
