Saudi Arabia celebrated Flag Day across the Kingdom on Tuesday, with the highlight being the country’s national flag flying atop the iconic 172-meter flagpole in Jeddah.

The Saudi flag, symbolising monotheism, justice, and strength, soaring atop the Jeddah flagpole as a testament to the nation’s rich history and civilisational achievements, SPA reported.

The Jeddah flagpole, billed as the world’s tallest flagpole, standing at 172 meters, proudly displays the fluttering “Banner of Monotheism”, it said.

It features the Kingdom’s official emblem, with two 75-meter-long swords and an 85-meter-long palm tree, covering an area of 26,000 square meters and weighing 500 tons, making it a prominent national, social, and historical landmark in central Jeddah, SPA said.

Flag Day celebrates the enduring significance of the national flag in Saudi Arabia’s history, symbolising the nation’s sovereignty, heritage, and ongoing journey of progress.

It also represents solidarity, love, and loyalty to the “Banner of Monotheism”, strengthening citizens’ connection to their homeland and their pride in its accomplishments across all sectors.
