Tadweer visits Japan to learn advanced waste management techniques

Tadweer Group is visiting Japan as it looks to develop its waste management techniques in the UAE.

The visit is conducted as part of a wider delegation alongside ne’ma (the National Food Loss and Waste Initiative).

The partners are in Japan for learning opportunities, understanding best practices in the waste sector and exploring areas for further cooperation.

“The challenge of food loss and waste is multi-faceted, affecting food security, environmental sustainability, and economic efficiency,”

“As part of ne’ma’s mandate to reduce food loss and waste in the UAE by 50 per cent by 2030 in line with UN SDG 12.3, we are eager to exchange knowledge on advanced methodologies and technologies with our Japanese partners.

“Together, we are taking meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future, ensuring that precious resources are utiliSed efficiently and mindfully.”

 Tadweer Group is poised for international expansion and growth with the creation of its subsidiaries and onboarding global partners to progress its target of diverting 80 per cent of waste from landfills.

Tadweer Group previously announced a partnership with Japanese chemical companies to build a cutting-edge plastic chemical recycling facility in Abu Dhabi.

The investment is expected to reach up to JY40bn ($266m), with the facility set to be operational by 2027.

Tadweer has other partnerships with Marubeni and other Japanese companies, mainly in power generation sector and now plans to expand its collaboration with Japanese firms that possess advanced technology and expertise.
