Dubai-based online food and grocery ordering company talabat has published its first-ever Giving Back Impact Report, detailing how its customers, partners, and technology are driving positive social impact across the Middle East and North Africa.

The report shows that in 2025, talabat users contributed more than €1.45 million (around AED 6 million) through the company’s in-app Giving Back programme, supporting communities in need across eight regional markets.

Positioned as one of the region’s largest digital charity aggregators, talabat enables users to donate directly to licensed charities and humanitarian organisations through its app.

In the third quarter of 2025 alone, users donated over 330,000 meals, €1.4 million in funds, and supported 41 charity partners working across a range of causes, from food security to disaster relief.

The report highlights a strong rise in user engagement, with donations up 6 per cent year-on-year and the average contribution per user more than doubling.

talabat said the data demonstrates how its platform is helping to build a trusted digital community around social giving, making charitable acts part of everyday life.

“Giving back isn’t just a programme for us – it’s part of who we are as a platform and a community,” said May Youssef, Senior Director of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability at talabat.

“Together, through both corporate and consumer donations, we raised more than €7 million (about AED 27.5 million) last year. It’s proof that technology can drive real social impact when it’s built around people, not just transactions.”

A key focus of talabat’s Giving Back initiative is its ongoing partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) and licensed charities across the region. The company’s Together for Gaza campaign has supported WFP operations by funding the production of whole wheat bread and sustaining bakery operations in Gaza.

According to Rami Kridly, CEO of ShareTheMeal, WFP’s fundraising app, donations from talabat helped deliver the equivalent of 900,000 meals to families in need.

The company said Giving Back has become an integral part of the talabat experience, embedding purpose into the act of ordering and showcasing how innovation and community engagement can go hand in hand. With this foundation, talabat aims to continue redefining what it means to be a tech company with impact at its heart across the MENA region.
