The UAE Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has increased the fees for the 10-year Golden Visa from AED50 to AED150, according to a report by Gulf Today.
The revised fee structure includes the authority’s fees, electronic services fees, and smart services fees.
The ICP has urged foreigners who are interested in obtaining the Golden Visa to check their eligibility by visiting the website or using the UAEICP smart application. They can then follow the steps and instructions provided to complete the necessary procedures.
ICP has clarified that the application process is a service that results in an initial electronic approval being granted for the issuance of the Golden Visa.
There are five steps for submitting the application, starting with filling in the required information and attaching relevant documents. The documents needed may vary depending on the data entered in the application. Once the application is submitted, the applicant can pay the fees, receive the service, and wait for the transaction confirmation to be sent to their email.
ICP has also stated that requests can be submitted through three channels: the ICP website or smart application, customer happiness centers, or approved typing offices.
If the application is returned due to deficiencies in the data or incomplete documents, it will be rejected electronically after 30 days. The application will also be rejected if it is returned three times due to deficiencies in the data or failure to complete the required documents.
If the application is rejected, only issuance fees and financial guarantees, if any, will be refunded.
The refund will be made through credit card within six months from the date of submission of the application, or through the procedures followed by a cheque or bank transfer within five years.
