Darwish Engineering Emirates has won a contract worth around US $136 million (AED 500 million) for the infrastructure works on the Sharjah Investment Centre (SIC).

The project is being developed by Snasco and will be spread across a 2.9 million m2 site close to Sharjah International Airport and Hamriyah Free Zone.

It will be made up of industrial and logistics facilities, commercial and residential buildings, two hotels, recreational facilities and a cricket pitch.

"The specified plans and specifications of SIC reflects the significance of this project, as it will improve the local infrastructure in Sharjah, provide general services and give momentum to the emirate," said Baha Nahawi, general manager of Darwish.

Darwish is also working on a $92.6 million infrastructure contract at the Mina Al Arab project in Ras Al Khaimah, which is being developed by RAK Properties.

Snasco, which is made up of a group of six investors, is also developing Al Basateen, a low-rise residential and commercial project that will be located on the Meliha Road in Sharjah.
