Dell Latitude ATG laptop geared for the Middle East

Dell touts its new rugged E6400 ATG for performance in harsh environments

In a Middle East exclusive, ITP.net can reveal that Dell is targeting the Gulf with its new rugged Latitude E6400 ATG notebook.

“We’re planning to be a bit more loud on this product as we move forward, and saying this is the best product for this marketplace,” Eric Greffier, director of Client Marketing at Dell EMEA said.

ATG, which stands for ‘All Terrain Grade’, is designed for demanding work environments where dust, vibration and moisture are constant factors.

“We have a state of the art processor chipset and graphic subsystem so there’s no compromise to performance and no compromise to battery life,” commented Jeff Clarke, senior vice president, Dell Product Group, at the launch of their new E-series Latitude laptop line.

The suitability of Latitude ATG for the region was addressed by Greffier: “Last year we had interactions with our best customers from Europe and one of them was working in construction in the Middle East. We discussed the ATG and how important it is for them because the product has really been made for that. Especially in Dubai, this is the perfect fit.”

Apart from construction, the ATG is geared towards industries like oil and gas, manufacturing and public organizations including law enforcement.

The laptop features a shock-mounted, removable hard drive, a dust and spill-resistant keyboard and a 14.1 inch shock-mounted LCD screen, with back light, that is suitable for outdoor use.
