Accidents forced partial closure of northbound side of highway, other incidents reported on Emirates Road and in Abu Dhabi
Thousands of cars were left stranded on Sheikh Zayed Road this morning, after dense fog caused an accident involving up to 40 cars.
The National reported that the accidents took place on the northbound side of the highway near Seih Shuaib, on the Abu Dhabi border with Dubai.
Another four accidents occurred on the southbound side of the road near the Jebel Ali Free Zone, caused by motorists rubbernecking.
The newspaper reported that Dubai Police partially closed the road to enable emergency services to remove the vehicles.
There were no injuries or deaths reported.
Heavy fog was also blamed for a further accident on Emirates Road before the Al Khawaneej intersection, while in Abu Dhabi a number of accidents were also reported on Saada Bridge and on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street.
how can you blame heavy fog for accidents?
The fog is innocent!!!!!
I would blame people driving without due care and attention for the accidents.
