Departures from Jeddah airport temporarily suspended due to dust storm

Passengers asked to contact their relevant airlines

Departures from Jeddah airport temporarily suspended due to dust storm

Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport suspended some of its departing flights temporarily due to a dust storm that has enveloped the area.

Saudi Press Agency confirmed that the airport has temporarily stopped the flights due to the weather conditions.

The Director of Public Relations and Information at the airport, Turki Al-Zeeb, said anyone intending on travelling from Jeddah should communicate with their relevant airline to know the new departure time for their flights.

The country’s meteorology department warned of unsettled weather, strong winds and sandstorms which could reduce visibility to less than 5 kilometres in the provinces of Tabuk, Mecca, Medinah, Al-Joof, Northern borders, Hail, Al-Qassim and Riyadh.
