DHL signs deal with Apacer

DHL UAE has announced that it has become the supply chain solution provider for Apacer, a global manufacturer in memory module and digital storage devices.

DHL UAE has agreed a tie up with Apacer, a global manufacturer in memory module and digital storage devices. Under the agreement, DHL will develop a customised end-to-end supply chain solution for Apacer, shipping the goods into the UAE and then from there, to the rest of the Middle East.

“This contract win with one of the biggest niche manufacturers in the world, is a triumph for the unique capabilities of DHL’s direct express inventory service, which has been providing support to various businesses across the region for the past two years,” said David Wild, general manager, DHL UAE.

The logitsics company will use its direct express inventory service to ensure the secure storage and effective dispatch of Apacer’s products, to meet the manufacturer’s customers demands.

“This premium service allows clients to concentrate on their core competencies, which for Apacer means manufacturing, while DHL provides the supply chain solution that ensures their logistic requirements are achieved effectively. The service effectively dispenses with the need for manufacturers to set up an independent operation, but enables them to meet the needs of remote customers,” added Wild.

The partnership will also see DHL assume full responsibility for ensuring that UAE orders for Apacer’s goods, which manufactured in Taiwan, are delivered on time. Apacer’s own sales people will secure the orders in the UAE before passing on the details to DHL, who will warehouse the stock and keep its inventory as well.

“Our relationship with Apacer through DHL Taiwan played a crucial role in securing this contract. We have full responsibility for all aspects of the logistics and we will oversee movements of the product from Taiwan to our own warehouses in Dubai, and then onward to the client,” said Dirk van Doorn, logistics manager, DHL UAE.
