Where else but in Dubai would the world’s priciest car tyres have been sold?

Costing an astronomical Dhs2 million ($600,000 USD) for a full set of four, they’re a one-time creation by Dubai-based company Zenises.

So what’s so special about them and who is the lucky buyer?

Well, they’re adorned with 24-carat gold and studded in immaculate diamonds, although to the naked eye they look to be made primarily of rubber like any other conventional tyre.

But if you need any further proof of their quality and complex manufacturing, know that the diamonds were supplied by bespoke Italian jewellers Joaillier Privé, who fitted the rocks onto the 3D-printed white gold casing they also provided.

Watch the Italian maestros in action right here!

Next, the casing was delivered to China where it was fused onto the tyres through an exclusive process that’s being kept secret.

The already lavish tyres were then sent all the way back to Dubai to be layered with gold-leafing by another team of master craftsmen, those who were tasked with decorating the new royal palace in Abu Dhabi.

The finished products were first put on display at an auto trade show in the German city of Essen last May.

As for the person who gets to drive around town like a modern-day King Midas, well, we’ll just have to take a guess!

“We don’t know the final buyer,” Harjeev Kandhari, the CEO of Zenises, was quoted as saying by 7Days.

Perhaps the best part of this story is that Zenises will pass on all the profits from the $600,000 sale to the foundation, focused on improving access to education around the world.

There you have it: the entrepreneurial spirit and luxuriousness of Dubai together with the charitable spirit of Ramadan. Keep it rolling!
