DIC hosts tenant companies at Gitex

Dubai Internet City will play host to around a dozen of the free zone’s companies in its Community Pavilion.

There were two small surprises at this morning’s press conference to announce DIC’s lineup of Gitex stand partners. One was CEO Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman’s revelation that Dubai Internet City is looking into the possibility of organising its very own trade show with the participation of DIC’s tenants. “Having a show for DIC itself is something we’re looking into,” said Dr Bin Sulaiman, without elaborating.DIC’s Community Pavilion will be playing host to around a dozen of the free zone's tenant companies at Gitex. These include iPIX, Satyam, Amlaki, ComGuard, Synergy, Interactive, Infinite Dimensions, ITSC, Globecomm Systems and the Palestinian Information Technology Association (PITA.)Dr Bin Sulaiman said there was a long list of companies wanting to take part in the Community Pavilion and that not all of them could be fitted in. It wasn't revealed how much companies pay for the privilege of being part of the Pavilion, but it is likely to be far less than they would have to spend for their own dedicated stand. This morning's other surprise was Synergy Professional Services’ revelation that it is in the process of expanding into Europe. Melad Ghabrial, president and CEO of the IT training and services company, promised the announcement of “some major acquisitions” in the coming weeks, primarily in Eastern Europe. “It will be the first time a regional company has expanded into Europe,” enthused Ghabrial.
