The US $3.2 billion Diyar al Muharraq city project has launched in Bahrain.
The design of the reclaimed island city near Manama will take its cues from the traditional architecture of Muharraq, the former capital of Bahrain.
CEO Aaref Hejres said the project was currently seeking a lead architect, and indicated that he will consider international and regional firms for the project.
The first facilities on the 12 km2 site are expected by 2010.For all the latest construction news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
