In the latest move to appeal directly to a target market of 18 to 34 year olds, Nokia has teamed up with actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Officially the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones, Nokia kicked off its new campaign to push its products as fashion accessories with the signing of the glamorous star.

Aiming its range of phones at an ever younger and trendier market, Nokia hopes to create a strong sense of brand awareness and loyalty. To this end, Nokia intends to tap into the appeal of Hollywood.

Jennifer Love Hewitt, the star of such movies as "I Know What You Did Last Summer", will appear in the next round of advertisements.

Nokia, introduced in 1994, was the first Finnish company to be recognized by the New York Stock Exchange.

Global Brand

In a recent poll by market research firm Interbrand, Nokia was named number 11 in the list of the "Top 20 Global Brands".

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s deal follows a history of contact between the fashion industry and Nokia, marketed as “The Phone You Wear".
