Drake & Scull unit wins UAE projects worth $35.6m

Drake & Scull Engineering hired to work on mixed use Abu Dhabi tower, two district cooling plants in Dubai

Drake & Scull unit wins UAE projects worth $35.6m

Drake & Scull Engineering has announced that it has been commissioned to deliver mechanical and kighting works for a mixed use residential and commercial tower in Abu Dhabi and two district cooling plants in Dubai for a combined contract value of AED131 million ($35.6 million).

The subsidiary of Drake & Scull International said in a statement that the project wins raise the value of total project awards to AED2.4 billion so far this year.

Under the terms of the first agreement, DSE will supply and install the heating, ventilation and air conditioning, building management, firefighting, water supply and drainage systems for a mixed use tower in Abu Dhabi.

Work on the project has already started with an estimated handover scheduled for 2018, the company said.

Under the terms of the second agreement, DSE will supply, install, test and commission the mechanical, fire suppression, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and electrical services of two cooling plants in Dubai.

The two district cooling plants have been designed to offer a combined 6,750 tons of refrigeration and DSE said its work on both projects will begin in January with a scheduled handover during Q4 2016.

Ahmad Al Naser, managing director of Drake & Scull Engineering, said: “We are pleased to continue our trend in 2015, where we have secured more than AED2.4 billion worth of projects year to date across the UAE, Oman and Kuwait.”
