Driver relief as Arabian Ranches Interchange opens

Traffic chaos set to ease after RTA opens interchange at Dubai traffic hotspot.

Frazzled Dubai drivers who make one of the most notoriously congested commutes down Emirates Roads every day could see the traffic chaos ease after the opening of the new $111 million Arabian Ranches Interchange on Thursday.

The old roundabout at the intersection, which links Emirates Road with Umm Suqeim and Al-Qudrah Roads, has been replaced by a multi-tier flyover spanning 11 bridges and one underpass, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.

“By opening this vital project, RTA is aiming for a better traffic flow in all directions to supplement its ongoing efforts to construct new roads, bridges and underpasses,” Maitha bin Adai, CEO of the RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said in a statement.
