DSO sets up circuit design centre

\n

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) is to create an integrated circuit design centre to bring chip design to the emirate.

The facility, Dubai Circuit Design, is meant to complement existing regional and global integrated circuit design companies already located at DSO.

The establishment of the design centre will bring integrated circuit design talent to Dubai, DSO claimed, especially experts in radio frequency (RF) and analogue capabilities.

“Dubai Silicon Oasis is committed to promoting and facilitating the development of an electronics-based industry in the UAE and the wider region,” said Mohammed Al Zarouni, vice chairman and CEO of DSO. “In today’s challenging and ever changing scientific world, we are left with no choice but to speed up our move to keep pace with the latest in the field of technology.”

Dubai Circuit Design will employ 15 engineers to begin with, and DSO said it was in the process of hiring 50 more.

All employees would undergo on-site training in integrated circuit design.
