du expands data service with Reliance Globalcom deal

UAE telecom operator du to enhance reliability and range of data services with Reliance Globalcom partnership

du has signed Indian telecom service provider Reliance Globalcom to improve its data services.

Reliance Globalcom, a division of Reliance Communications, will use its FLAG undersea cable network to improve du's bandwidth and assist the telco in launching new services. du says it is looking at introducing services including IP VPN, Global Ethernet for secure networking and MPLS.

Osman Sultan, CEO of du said: "The strategic agreement will create tremendous synergies for all concerned. It marks a significant step for us towards our journey to become the regional hub as part of our international strategy."

Andrew Grenville, Executive Vice President, International and Wholesale, du, added, "du customers will benefit from direct access to the Reliance Globalcom worldwide network. We are certain it will improve the diversity and resilience of our network while opening up new avenues for rich and innovative content for du business customers."
