New BlackBerry Bold and other specialized smartphones and solutions are now available through du

du has tied up with Research In Motion (RIM) to launch the latest BlackBerry smartphones and solutions at GITEX 2008.

The new offerings include the highly anticipated BlackBerry Bold touch-screen smartphone, the BlackBerry Curve 8320 in a gold finish with a hybrid English-Arabic keyboard and Wi-Fi support, the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 in pink and blue, and the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in a titanium finish with Wi-Fi support.

“The new BlackBerry Bold represents a tremendous step forward in business-grade smartphones and lives up to its name with incredible speed, power and functionality, all wrapped in a stylish and stunning design,” commented Mark Guibert, vice president, Corporate Marketing, RIM.

du has also announced the availability of BlackBerry Professional Software - a new wireless solution for small and medium-sized organizations. Based on the core functionality of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software, the BlackBerry Professional Software offers support for up to 30 wireless users.

“BlackBerry Professional Software from du offers significant advantages in productivity, management and security, in a cost-effective package that can be installed on an existing email server,” said Farid Faraidooni, EVP Commercial, du.

Based on a distribution agreement with RIM, Alcatel-Lucent provided du with end-to-end implementation, integration and support services for delivering the BlackBerry solution to the UAE market.

The new BlackBerry Bold and other smartphones and services are now available through the twenty three du shops in the UAE or online at www.du.ae.
