thedition of the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement & Leisure Show (DEAL 2008) is being held this week from April 20-22 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
"DEAL 2008 represents the largest contingent of both local and international exhibitors showcasing the latest and most innovative products in leisure, amusement and entertainment to an industry which is even surpassing the developed countries in the sheer scale of amusement projects and theme parks being developed," said president of show organiser International Expo Consults (IEC) Abdul Rehman Falaknaz on opening the exhibition.
Amusement Services International L.L.C director Prakash Vivekanand added: "The Middle East is one of the fastest growing leisure markets in the world today. The cultural habits of the people living in the Middle East are also very conducive for the growth of the leisure business."
The show is supported by trade bodies such as the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the Amusement Industry Council of Europe, India Association of Amusement Parks & Industries and the World Waterpark Association (WWA), which is holding its first Middle East Symposium alongside the show.
WWA director of park member development Aleatha Ezra said: "This year's DEAL show offered us the unique opportunity to take our educational programme to an area of the world that we have wanted to serve more.
"Over the past few years, our park membership has grown in Dubai and the surrounding areas in the UAE, which makes a partnership with DEAL all the more attractive. By offering our programme in conjunction with DEAL, we are able to offer our attendees better value for the money," she explained.
The WWA Symposium will run from April 22-23 and feature a detailed seminar programme and behind-the-scenes operational visits to Ski Dubai and Wild Wadi Waterpark.
