Filipino man arrested in Abu Hail after he confessed to killing her over money
An expat butcher in Dubai has been arrested in relation to the murder and beheading of a female relative.
The Filipino man was arrested in Abu Hail by Dubai Police on Tuesday, ending a three-month search for the woman’s murderer.
Dubai Police said the woman’s headless and handless torso was found by a cleaner in Al Warqa on May 27 last year.
Officers said that the woman was believed to have worked as a maid prior to her disappearance and following DNA analysis on over 9,000 maids who had runway from their sponsors, they managed to track down the dead woman’s relatives, including the butcher.
He had been working in the UAE illegally, according to police, and following questioning he admitted to killing the woman after they had an argument about AED10,000 he borrowed from her.
The man led police to the desert in Ajman were they found the woman's severed head and hands.
