Dubai Police introduces 'smart' service to allow instant payment of fines

Dubai Police patrols are being equipped with 15 electronic pay devices to allow traffic offenders to pay their fines immediately by using credit or debit cards, according to news report.

“Some of the smart services launched here are being used for the first time, in a bid to preserve the security, which requires innovative ideas transformed into a smart system,” Lieutenant General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police told Khaleej Times.

The police launched 18 smart services which includes ‘smart officer service’ that can draw accidents and review traffic violations by recording them on video and ‘Security Predicting System’ that predicts time and place of future crimes, based on historical data and algorithm equations.

Dubai Police said earlier this week that it will put its first robot into service next year.
