Logistics giant says some customers had received scam emails directing them to false portal in bid to steal details
Dubai-based logistics giant Aramex has announced that it has shut down a fake website purporting to be an official company portal.
The company said some of its customers had received scam emails requesting confirmation on the delivery address for a fallacious upcoming shipment.
"This is an organic challenge at Aramex, to which we are constantly working to overcome," said the company in an email alert to customers.
Aramex said some of the customers received emails requesting them to confirm the delivery address by clicking on a URL that led to a fake Aramex website to steal their credentials.
"The fake website was reported and shut down," the company said, adding that if customers receive any email of this type they should delete it.For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
