Dubai's Burj Khalifa appears in The Simpsons

Homer scales the world's tallest building in a recent episode of the animated TV show

Dubai's Burj Khalifa appears in The Simpsons

The Burj Khalifa has made it to Springfield with the world’s tallest building featuring in the latest episode of The Simpsons.

In the episode, titled YOLO, or You Only Live Once, Homer is persuaded by Spanish pen pal Eduardo Barcelona to tick off his bucket list with an attempt to skydive.

However, as he makes his descent, Homer is distracted by a soaring eagle and fails to see the Burj Khalifa, which has strangely appeared in the fictional town, and he hits the building straight on.

An appearance on The Simpsons is considered a coveted spot, with the likes of Michael Jackson, Tom Hanks and Paul McCartney all guest starring on the long-running FOX series.

The Burj Khalifa has also featured on the big screen in Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol and Bollywood film Dabangg 2.

In Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise scales the heights of the 830m-tall structure in a stunt that left many in awe.
