Serial entrepreneur Mona Tavassoli invites women leaders and emerging women leaders to take part in the city’s first organised walk of mentors and mentees.
A group of Dubai-based entrepreneurs have teamed up to organise the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk in Dubai.
Dubai’s first ever Global Mentoring Walk will be held between 8am and 10am on Saturday, 5 March at Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.
The event is happening simultaneously in 87 countries on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Mona Tavassoli, founder of MomSouq and Mompreneurs, who organises the event in cooperation with the Dubai Business Women Council, expects between 50 to 100 UAE-based entrepreneurs and executives to take part in the walk as mentors and mentees.
“All of the participants are handpicked and among the most influential and high profile leaders in the business community,” she says.
“One of our main objectives is to support corporates in the region to reach their women empowerment objectives as well to empower women in the Middle East through education.”
During an hour-long walk, established women leaders and emerging women leaders will be encouraged to discuss their entrepreneurship-related challenges and opportunities. The walk will be followed by a networking breakfast.
Geraldine Laybourne, founder and former CEO of Oxygen Media, developed the concept for the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk in 2006 to empower young women professionals in New York City and across the United States.
