Turkey’s Kuzu Group has appointed Dubai's Jumeirah Group to operate a mixed-use development in the Ataköy district of Istanbul.
The $450 million Sea Pearl development, which is expected to open in 2019, will include a luxury 202-room Jumeirah hotel and 62 private residences managed under the Jumeirah brand.
The developer, Kuzu Group, is well-established in Turkey and has already completed a number of high-end developments, with a special focus on large-scale residential projects.
Özen Kuzu, CEO, Kuzu Group, said: “This urban resort development will enjoy unrestricted views of the Marmara Sea and have a sense of peace and tranquility, whilst also being closely connected to Istanbul’s historical centre just a short drive away... We are delighted to be partnering in this prominent and luxurious project with a worldwide renowned group such as Jumeirah.”
Stefan Leser, Group chief executive, Jumeirah Group, added: “Jumeirah Group already has a strong brand presence in Turkey and we are delighted to operate a second Jumeirah property within the dynamic city of Istanbul.
"This welcome addition to our portfolio is another step towards achieving the Group’s long term growth strategy. Kuzu Group’s established track record for visionary developments fits well with Jumeirah’s reputation for luxury and exceptional hospitality, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
The 202 key hotel will feature rooms and various suite categories from 47 to 430 sq m, while the residences will range from 57 sq m (one bedroom) to 400 sq m (five bedroom).
The development also includes a conference hall, a VIP Club facility, a Business Centre, a large sports complex, which will include a large spa and wellness facility with Turkish hammam as well as an indoor-outdoor swimming pool, a shopping arcade and several food and beverage facilities including a seafront dining area.
The Ataköy property will be the third in Turkey for Jumeirah Group which currently operates Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah, an iconic heritage hotel located in the heart of Istanbul, as well as the summer resort, Jumeirah Bodrum Palace, which is set along the Bodrum coast of the Aegean Sea.For all the latest travel news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
