Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah gets new managing director

UAE-based hospitality firm Jumeirah Group has appointed a new managing director to oversee its flagship Madinat Jumeirah complex.

Swiss national Stefan Bollhalder has been recruited for the post and will oversee the operations of Madinat Jumeirah, which contains the Al Qasr, Mina’a Salam and Al Naseem hotels, and the Souk Madinat.

Last year, the resort recorded 590,000 visitors, Jumeirah Group said in a statement.

Bollhalder will report directly to Doris Greif, senior vice-president, MEASA (Middle East, Africa and South Asia) and has 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.

He joins Jumeirah Group from the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, where he was general manager and area manager for Europe.
