A unit of the Roads and Transport
Authority (RTA) said on Sunday it has expanded an agreement to provide marine transport to and from islands in Dubai's The World development.

The RTA's Public Transport Agency said it will transport tourists and visitors to The Heart of Europe Islands once the projectis completed.

An agreement was signed between the RTA and Kleindienst Group, the developer of The Heart of Europe Islands, a statement said.

It follows a similar agreement signed with the Great Britain Island last week to operate water taxis and ferries to the island once it has been developed into a luxury resort.

Dr Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Public Transport Agency reiterated the RTA's endeavours to establish a long-term public private partnership, especially with tourist operators in the UAE.

Josef Kleindienst, CEO of Kleindienst Group, added: "We definitely get along with RTA's strong customer oriented initiatives and plans to delivering the world's best services in tourism and public transportation sectors and enhance Dubai's internationally reputed position as an economic and servicing centre."
