Digital imaging giant Canon debuted its latest range of DVD camcorders at the recent Consumer Electronics Show staged in Las Vegas.

Canon's DC230, DC220 and DC210 DVD camcorders boast the company's 35x optical zoom lens (1000x digital zoom) as standard, which is its longest optical zoom to date. They also feature Canon's proprietary Smooth Zoom image stability system and its second-generation DIGIC DV II signal processing technology. The company claims the technology ensures optimal image quality for both video and still images while producing images with improved colour reproduction. It also uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction for impressive image quality. Additional features include AiAF autofocus; a miniSD memory card slot capable of recording still images in high resolution; high-speed USB 2.0 capability; and PictBridge compatibility. The DC230 combines these additional features with a 1.07 megapixel CCD image sensor capable of recording video and still images in 1152 x 864 resolution to a miniSD card. It also boasts a wireless remote control.
