Eastward expansion

Limitless to build its first community in Russia.

Limitless, the Dubai-based sustainable master developer, has teamed up with Russian real estate investor, RDI Group, to build the first of several planned mixed-use communities around Moscow.

The first project for Limitless in Russia, the 12,000 person development will be located near Ivakino and Starbeevo in the Khimki Region, which is approximately 3km from Sheremetyevo International Airport and 24km northwest of Moscow.

"We are delighted to add Russia to our ever-expanding global portfolio, and to be working with RDI, who share our vision for quality, sustainable projects," said Saeed Ahmed Saeed, CEO of Limitless.

The 113-hectare masterplan will include 4,500 private homes-including low-rise apartment buildings, townhouses and villas-and calls for schools, retail and commercial elements to be included in the programme.

According to Saeed, the new development will use distinctive architecture to balance residential and business elements, with extensive outdoor spaces. For example, the project site is located alongside the Moscow Canal in the midst of a pine forest, which will be retained and incorporated into the masterplan.

The environmentally responsible community, to begin in 2009 and finish in 2016, represents a new architectural paradigm for the Russian countryside.

"We are glad that Limitless shares our strategic view on the development of large mixed-use projects," said Alexander Reznikov, general director of RDI Group. "With the experience and skills that Limitless will contribute to the project, our confidence in imminent success gets even stronger."
