Education exhibition expands

The region’s biggest education exhibition is to launch a spin-off in Abu Dhabi.

The region’s biggest education exhibition is to launch a spin-off in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai-based International Conferences & Exhibitions will take its Gulf Education and Training Exhibition to the emirate in the autumn.

The event currently runs in Dubai, where it is in its 18th year.

Last year it attracted exhibitors from 438 different universities and 37 different countries along with more than 27,000 visitors.

The new event in Abu Dhabi will be slightly smaller and aimed at targeting potential students for the following spring intake. It is estimated that just under half of the UAE’s 4.3m population is aged under-15, creating a large pool of potential visitors.

Anselm Godinho, managing director of IC&E told Campaign Middle East: “Education is one of the hot subjects at the moment.”

As well as Abu Dhabi, the event also runs in Hyderabad in India.
