Sheikh Mohammed launches phase 2 of Dubai Translation Challenge

Initiative has so far completed translation of 1,500 educational videos and 3 million words

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed the achievements of the Translation Challenge, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Rashid Arab e-Learning Project.

The initiative has completed translation of 1,500 educational videos out of the targeted 5,000 videos, with 3 million words out of the targeted 11 million words, a statement said.

It added that more than 300 volunteers are taking part in the Translation Challenge.

Sheikh Mohammed witnessed the launch of the second phase of the initiative, which includes the compliance of the translated content with the education curriculum.

He also visited the “translation lab” and was briefed on the work processes and plans.

“I am happy to see such enthusiastic volunteers. We have  a team composed of thousands of volunteers ready to start a new phase of development in the field of education in the Arab world. Our students need better curriculums and the Mohammed bin Rashid Arab e-Learning Project will be the biggest platform for developing educational content," said Sheikh Mohammed.
