eGate take-up continues

Datel is to deploy its automated immigration clearance system across Northern Cyprus.

Datel is to deploy its automated immigration clearance system across Northern Cyprus.

The UAE turnkey solutions provider signed the agreement to launch the eGate project with the country's Interior Minister Özkan Murat yesterday (Wednesday), and the solution will be installed at North Cyprus Ercan Airport and at all land border checkpoints.

"The eGate will allow the users in Northern Cyprus to avoid long queues at border control points, airports and road borders, and easy secure access from entry and exit points," Prkash Ivaturi, Datel vice president, said at the signing ceremony.

Northern Cyprus is the third country to go for Datel's eGate solution following its deployment in Jordan and Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE.

The system is designed, developed and implemented by Datel and is a two-factor authentication solution that consists of ID cards utilising RFID technology and biometric fingerprint verification.
