Technology should play a key role in society, the head of Dubai eGovernment said at a conference this month.
Speaking at the fourth conference of the International Women's Cultural Forum at Dubai's Crowne Plaza Hotel, Salem Al Shair, services director at Dubai eGovernment, said that technology was "an integral part of the future of our society".
"This being the case, technology therefore is an empowering tool for any member of this society. Thus, enabling families to collectively learn how to take full advantage of this empowering tool will lead to a highly efficient and participative community," he added.
Dubai eGovernment was the honorary sponsor of the invitation-only forum, which highlighted how technology could be used to enhance welfare and stability in society. Held under the motto ‘towards e-Family', the two day event covered topics such as the promotion of literacy and technology and improved communication between the community and government. For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
