Eichstädt arrives at Magirus Middle East

Value-added distributor Magirus has appointed Patrick Eichstädt as general manager for its Middle East operations. Eichstädt will be responsible for sales and marketing and will manage Magirus’ operations in Dubai and Kuwait alongside Vimal Kocher.

Eichstädt will be responsible for sales and marketing and will manage Magirus’ operations in Dubai and Kuwait alongside Vimal Kocher, the general manager responsible for finance and administration.

Eichstädt, 39, takes over from Rainer John who returns to Magirus head office in Germany to undertake a new role.

Eichstädt joined Magirus in 1996 starting out as team leader for telesales and telemarketing before subsequently becoming business unit manager for networks and business development manager for the IBM business unit.

In 1999 Eichstädt moved to distribution giant Avnet before moving on to take up the role of general manager at distributor Bell Microproducts’ German operation.

Eichstädt and Kocher will jointly manage the Middle East operations for Magirus. The regional operation remains structured as a joint venture company, A’Ayan Magirus.

The Magirus group now has more than 450 employees across Europe and the Middle East and boasts annual sales of approximately US$670m. Magirus major vendor partners include HP, IBM, EMC and StorageTek.
