Dubai developer announces extension to Arabian Ranches; retail, schools, community centre also planned
Emaar Properties on Sunday announced the extension of its Arabian Ranches development in Dubai with the launch of more than 120 new villas.
The Spanish-inspired 'Palma' developer will feature a total of 121 villas, available in four designs, Emaar said in a statement.
Palma will also feature a new retail and community centre, health and fitness facilities, cycle trails, a day care centre, mosque, schools, and a range of dining options, Emaar added.
Emaar said it will open online registration at www.emaar.com for the villas on September 25 at 10am.
Sales will be held simultaneously in Dubai and Abu Dhabi at the Emaar Sales Centre in Emaar Square in Downtown Dubai, and at the Emaar Sales Centre in Al Nahda Tower, Abu Dhabi, respectively, from 9am on September 28, it added.
Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director, Emaar Properties, said: "Arabian Ranches is one of Dubai's most popular communities and has redefined the concept of premium villa lifestyle in the city.
"With the launch of Palma, a series of elegantly designed villas, we are offering another opportunity for home-owners and investors to be part of this world-class community."
Emaar's portfolio in Dubai also includes Downtown Dubai, the flagship 500-acre development, described as 'The Centre of Now,' and featuring the iconic Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall in addition to residences and commercial offices.
Other residential communities of Emaar include Dubai Marina and Emirates Living - a cluster of residential projects including The Views, The Springs, The Lakes, Emirates Hills, Hattan Villas, The Meadows and The Greens.

121 villas being sold simultaneously in 2 venues? "Here is the villa map and price list that we could easily have made public days ago but have instead only given to you after queuing for several hours so you won't want to walk away empty-handed. Quick! Make up your mind right now! Before someone else takes it! What? You want to read the contract terms? Too late, it's gone! Just pick any one, right now - don't worry about the contract terms, you will have sold it for a huge profit before it's finished anyway!"
In the next day's papers: "Palma development a huge success as all units sold in less than an hour. Some units already on property websites being offered [illegally] at a premium of AED 100,000+. Dubai property frenzy continues....."
Just had a look at the info on the Emaar website. As expected, there are no detailed floor plans, no plot map, the "masterplan" is a drawing from an ariel perspective and as there are two different angles, even basics like whether the units are villas or townhouses is not clear. Apparently the units will range from 3 to 5 bedroom but there is no indication of square foot range.
It would be nice if we could move on from the headline-frenzy antics of the past and for Emaar to announce all of this stuff in a transparent manner (including starting price per sq. ft and payment plan) ahead of time so people could make an informed decision beforehand instead of only finding out the details after queuing for hours.
