Saudi Binladen Group will build 13km road from KAEC main gate to Bay La Sun Village.

Emaar the Economic City, lead developer for King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Saudi Arabia, has signed a 129 million riyal ($34.5 million) roadworks contract with Saudi Binladen Group, the company said on Monday.

The project covers the construction of a 13-kilometre road from the KAEC main gate to the Bay La Sun Village residential community within the economic city.

Work is scheduled for completion in seven months.

Located on the Red Sea coast, KAEC is the largest of three economic cities being built in Saudi Arabia.

The $26.6 billion development has six components: the Sea Port; Industrial Zone; Central Business District; Resort District; Educational Zone; and Residential Communities.
