Emirates Bank Group puts its faith in Reuters & Tibco

Emirates Bank Group has decided to deploy Reuters/Tibco's Active Enterprise middleware product suite to enable it to integrate its core systems.

Emirates Bank Group has plans to integrate its core systems to create one of the region’s most advanced networks using Reuters /Tibco’s Active Enterprise product suite.

The project, which is scheduled to be completed midway through 2001, will be conducted by a joint EBG and Reuters/ Tibco team.

“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance our services and provide our customers with a superior banking experience, comparable to anything that there is on offer anywhere else in the world,” Abdulla Qassem, IT director, Emirates Bank. “With Tibco, we will not just integrate our customers, partners and affiliates in an event driven, real time environment. The benefit to our customers is that they will be able to access a wide variety of banking and financial services from one source, 24 hours a day and anywhere in the world.”

Tibco's ActiveEnterprise 2.0 is a suite of products that enables companies to exchange information in real time, by allowing them to connect their back and front-end systems.

“Just having a nice Website does not bring one into the Internet economy,” Naushad Kermali, Emirates Bank project director. “To achieve that, you have to think ‘e-commerce’ from the ground up. This design process goes into every system we introduce at Emirates Bank. We believe our partnership with Reuters/Tibco is a very important step in the right direction.”
