Emirates broadens links to Canada

Emirates SkyCargo has launched a non-stop service between Toronto and Dubai, providing Canadian companies with greater access to the Middle Eastern and Asian markets.

Emirates SkyCargo has launched a non-stop service between Toronto and Dubai, providing Canadian companies with greater access to the Middle Eastern and Asian markets.

The cargo division of Emirates Airline has steadily expanded its services to Canadian customers over the past six years, with direct flights between Toronto and Dubai scheduled to commence on 29th October 2007.

"Canadian companies will now have better access to the growing opportunities in South Asia, the Middle East and any of Emirates' 93 destinations," said Keith Stanley, Emirates' cargo manager in Canada. "The Toronto flights will improve delivery times and capacity for Canadian shipments throughout the world."

Emirates SkyCargo, which currently operates from a central office in Calgary, has utilised interline connections with Air Canada, its largest interline partner, as well as Air TransAt and Zoom.

"With our interline partners, we have moved all manner of Canadian products from aircraft engines and parts to vehicles, mining equipment and even live lobsters from Newfoundland," said Stanley. "In particular, we have built a strong relationship with the oil and gas industry in Canada, providing services through our worldwide network with connections to our flights in London and Frankfurt, among other destinations."
