Emirates-CAE launches 412 training

Emirates-CAE Flight Training is to receive a Bell 412 flight simulator and it has signed up Gulf Helicopters as its first customer.

Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) has confirmed that it will receive a Bell 412 full flight simulator and signed up Doha-based Gulf Helicopters as its first customer. The Qatari company will send all of its 212 and 412 pilots to ECFT for training under a five year deal, which will begin once the simulator arrives in Dubai. This is due to happen towards the end of 2005.

“Emirates-CAE Flight Training continues to take the lead in aviation training in the Gulf and Middle East and this new facility for helicopter training reaffirms its prime position,” commented Emirates’ chairman, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum.

ECFT has also been confirmed as a Bell Associated Training Facility, and the helicopter manufacturer will begin sending flight students to Dubai as soon as the full-flight simulator has been approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Joint Airworthiness Authorities (JAA).

“Bell Helicopter is proud to support this initiative and is looking forward to training some of its customers at the ECFT,” said Dane Pranke, director of marketing & sales, Middle East & Africa, for Bell Helicopter. “We felt that ECFT is consistent with our goal to better serve our Middle East-based customers.”
